Antique 8 Day Time and Strike Schoolhouse Clock Antique 8 Day Time and Strike Schoolhouse Clock Click images to enlarge Description This is a nice old foreign wall clock that is in good condition for its age, which dates back to around 1900. It has a nice old brass 8 day time and strike movement, which has been cleaned and is in good running and gonging condition. It gongs the number of each hour. Although the movement is unsigned, it is an exact period replica of a patented Ansonia Clock Co. movement being made at the beginning of the 20th century. The case is in good condition. The wood finish has been redone at one time and the gold was repainted over the somewhat scarred original plaster. It is overall worn, aged and rustic in appearance, but still very nice looking. It measures 12 ½ » wide x 22 ½ » high. The brass bezel and dial pan are original with a newer paper dial. The zinc dial pan is a little wavy, as is commonly found. The eight solid brass rosettes mounted around the dial are original to the clock and rare to find. The original bottom glass had the word « regulator » originally stenciled on it, but it is faded now and barely visible. These old schoolhouse clocks have become a great decorator item for all antique and country rustic settings. This clock comes complete with the original key and pendulum. Shipping Most clocks will be shipped within 5 business days of received payment. We like to give each clock sold a final test run and observation before packing. This helps insure that the new owner will have a satifying experience. All items are carefully packaged with around 1 1/2″ of packing material between your purchase and the box. All items are shipped insured. We never anticipate damage but in the event that an incident occurs, we will help with insurance claims as much as possible. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. Normally, all shipping costs are based on actual price for estimated weight plus a minimal fee for packaging material and insurance. In rare instances there may be a flat rate shipping price quoted. Smaller items can be combined to save shipping costs. Because clocks require large boxes, priority mail is expensive. We quote Fedex prices in most cases. ***For any shipments other than the lower 48 United States contact us first for a shipping quote before bidding. Do not go by the shipping calculator. If a clock is sold as « in running condition », it means that we have test ran it before listing it and feel confident that it will run for you. If a clock is running properly when it arrives,… thats about the best we can do. We cannot guarantee that a clock will not break down, but will not sell anything that we expect to break down without noting that it is being sold as parts or for restoration.
